Paper is a fragile medium and therefore paying attention to detail is crucial in order to obtain the results I seek. Colored pencils amaze me in the most inspirational ways - through the promise of infinite possibilities. Details that can be acheived through shading is rich, thick and tasty like a frothy cup of hot chocolate and I try to emphasize that flexibility with intensity and vividness in all of my sketches.

Creating creatures in a world that most certainly exists seems to spring from my mind constantly. Creatures and their stories – it obsesses me to no end. I also envy birds. They fly free and I get frustrated because I think if I tried hard enough, so could I. I’ve done it in my dreams before.

Acquiring or obtaining important pieces of paper has been an obsession for thousands of years. Long lost scrolls act as the keys that unlock the doors of time, their sacred parchment being guarded closely by the gatekeepers of existance. Like a fossilized crystalline fragment from the moon, paper is something so fragile yet so revered. It can also be invaluable, valuable and totally worthless at any given time.
